Art is my vehicle to explore what I imagine lies beyond the veil of human perception. My sense that everything in the universe is connected and animated through a common thread of energy is pervasive in my work. Nature's tendency to repeat similar patterns and shapes via botanicals, biology, the human form, sea and wildlife and even the celestial bodies above us continues to inform my work and my curiosity.
I usually paint in the Abstract Expressionist Style because it allows me to illustrate how I imagine energy behaves beyond my limited human perception. Every painting is a new adventure utilizing my intuition and love of color and texture. My experimentation using layers of bold saturated colors and organic shapes keeps me in a constant state of evolution as an artist. Ultimately, I find beauty and inspiration in all of the creations of the universe and strive to play off of them rather than simply recreate them.
I live on Mercer Island, which is a small island community just outside of Seattle, Washington. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree and later a second degree in Interior Design. I enjoy balancing my time between both painting and running my own residential interior design business.
